Care & lifespan

How to wash, style and look after your extensions so they keep their length and thickness longer.

Washing

Caring for extensions is almost the same as caring for your own hair.

Use your usual shampoo, one that suits your scalp and hair type. Wash your scalp gently, paying attention to the attachment areas, without tangling the hair or making sharp movements.

The key rule: only shampoo goes on the tapes and attachment points.

Don't apply masks, conditioners, balms, oils or other products to the attachments: they can weaken the adhesive bond and make the tapes slip prematurely.

Rinse the shampoo out thoroughly and handle your hair gently while washing.

Masks, conditioners and leave-in care

Extensions need full care along their length, just like your own hair. You can use:

  • masks to moisturise, nourish and keep the hair soft;
  • conditioners and balms for smoothness, shine and easy detangling;
  • leave-in products such as creams, serums and other treatments for the lengths;
  • oils and heat protection to protect the ends and prepare for styling.

Apply all of these along the lengths, keeping them off the tapes and attachment points.

The right care keeps the hair smooth, supple and beautiful for as long as you wear it.

Scalp and hair-growth products

If you use lotions, tonics, serums or other products that are massaged into the scalp, check what they contain.

It is especially important to keep alcohol-based products, and anything that can weaken the adhesive, away from the tapes. Otherwise the attachments may slip.

If you are on a hair-recovery course or use special anti-hair-loss products, discuss in advance whether they work with tape-in extensions.

If needed, the extension layout can be planned around the areas where you apply these products, as long as the condition of your own hair and the chosen technique allow it.

The health of your own hair always comes first.

Styling and heat

Our hair is completely natural, so you can style it the way you are used to:

  • blow-dry it;
  • straighten it with flat irons;
  • create curls and waves;
  • use a round brush;
  • wear everyday and evening hairstyles.

What matters is keeping the temperature in check and protecting the hair from excessive heat.

Before using hot tools, apply heat protection along the lengths, avoiding the attachment points. Don't let flat irons or curling tongs touch the tapes or adhesive bonds directly.

Temperature-controlled dryers and modern stylers, including Dyson, can help reduce heat stress when used with care.

Why hair texture matters

We take your wishes into account before the tapes are made, and we choose the texture of the natural hair individually so the result matches what you expect.

If you prefer perfectly sleek hair, we choose the straightest texture. This hair keeps its natural straight look but may hold curls less well.

If you love volume, waves and curls, we can choose more textured or porous hair. It lets you experiment with styles, from a sleek finish to defined curls.

How long a style lasts depends on the hair's original texture, its condition, humidity and how it is styled.

We match not only length and shade but also texture, so the extensions blend naturally with your own hair.

Correction

Correction is individual and is done every 2–3 months.

The exact timing depends on your individual physiology and how fast your own hair grows, as well as on how you care for it and where the tapes are placed.

Timely correction keeps the extensions neat and comfortable and the load on your own hair evenly distributed.

Don't put it off until the tapes have grown out a lot or tangles start forming at the roots.

Regular visits to a stylist are an important part of caring for extensions.

How long does tape-in hair last?

With proper care, natural hair on tapes can last a year or longer, and several years if handled gently.

The hair doesn't lose length by itself, but over time the ends may thin out from wear, heat and breakage.

That's why it matters not only to care for the hair correctly but also to treat it gently when you style it every day.

Its lifespan depends on the original quality of the hair, how often you use hot tools, friction, mechanical damage and how closely you follow the care advice.

How to keep length and thickness for longer

Natural hair can be straightened, curled and blow-dried. But the more often and the more intensely you use heat, the higher the risk of damage.

Regular use of flat irons or curling tongs at high temperatures can lead to dryness, brittleness and gradual breakage at the ends. Over time, the hair may become thinner along its length.

To keep the hair looking as it did on day one, we recommend:

  • using heat protection before hot styling;
  • not setting the temperature too high;
  • not passing hot tools over the same section again and again;
  • choosing gentler ways to dry and style whenever possible;
  • detangling carefully, starting from the ends;
  • using masks and conditioners on the lengths regularly;
  • avoiding friction and tangling.

The more gently you treat your hair, the longer it can keep its beauty, length and thickness.

Sleep and daily brushing

To reduce tangling and wear, follow a few simple rules:

  • before bed, brush your hair gently and put it in a loose braid;
  • after washing, don't go to bed with wet hair: let the hair and the attachment areas dry completely;
  • when brushing, start at the ends and work your way up while holding the hair at the roots; be especially gentle around the attachments.

These small habits help keep the extensions neat and reduce stress on your hair.

Can I put the extensions in myself?

Yes. You can choose the format that suits you best: at home or with a professional stylist.

At home

To do it yourself, you will need the right materials and supplies:

  • special tapes and double-sided extension tape;
  • primers and other supplies;
  • a professional tape remover;
  • tools for sectioning hair and placing the attachments.

We help you get the hang of it: when you buy hair, we send recorded video lessons on working with tapes. You can study the steps and come back to the videos whenever you need.

Doing it yourself takes care and following the technique. If you have no experience, study the instructions first and see a professional if needed. See also our self-correction guide.

With a stylist

If you'd rather leave it to a professional, you can buy the hair and book a stylist who works with tape-in extensions.

The stylist will plan the layout, carry out the procedure and help you work out the right correction schedule.

The choice is yours.
