Bio-tapes
A single thin tape with adhesive on both sides: a light attachment and minimal load on your own hair.
Not all tape-in extensions are the same. Bio-tapes and classic tapes differ in construction, in how they distribute the load and in how they can be placed, so the choice depends above all on how thick your own hair is, your haircut and the result you want.
At Da Vinchi Hair we choose the technique for each client, so the extensions look natural, feel comfortable and suit your hair.
Bio-tapes: the lightest option for fine hair
Bio-tapes are especially suited to women with fine, soft or thin hair who want extra length and volume while treating their own hair as gently as possible.
How a bio-tape works
A bio-tape is a single, solid adhesive tape with adhesive on both sides. It is placed close to the roots and joins your own hair to the extension strand.
Because the tape is one piece, the load is spread across the whole attachment area instead of being concentrated in small points. This makes for light, neat attachments, which matters most with fine hair.
With the right strand weight, careful installation and timely correction, bio-tapes can be a good choice if you want to keep your own length and gradually grow your hair out.
Who bio-tapes suit
- women with fine, soft hair;
- anyone who wants to keep the load on their own hair to a minimum;
- anyone who wants more length and thickness without heavy-feeling attachments;
- anyone who needs an individual, gentle approach to extensions.
What to know about hairstyles
With bio-tapes, you need to pay more attention to where the attachments sit when you wear high ponytails and some updos.
For the first few weeks after installation, we recommend treating the attachments especially gently and avoiding strong tension. As your hair grows, you'll have more styling options, but a lot depends on the layout and where the tapes are placed.
Benefits
- a very thin, barely visible attachment;
- minimal load on your own hair;
- suitable for fine and thin hair;

- neatly distributed strands;
- comfortable for everyday wear;
- quick installation;
- with proper care, your own hair grows between corrections.
Bio-tapes are installed and corrected with yellow tape.
Bio-tape or classic tape?
Bio-tape focuses on a light attachment and gentle work with fine hair.
Classic tape focuses on flexible placement, working with dense haircuts and creating a smooth transition between your own hair and the extensions.
No single technique suits everyone. Even the lightest tape needs the right weight, careful installation and timely correction.
Which tape to choose
If your hair is fine and soft, consider bio-tapes.
If your hair is thick, you have a dense bob or a blunt cut, classic tapes may give the stylist more room for a balanced result.
If you're not sure, look beyond the name of the technique: think about the condition of your own hair, the length you want and the hairstyles you usually wear.
We don't just pick hair and attachments: we choose the extension technique for your hair, so the result looks beautiful, natural and balanced. The right technique starts with understanding your hair.
